I’m Aaron Nelson, a TV Producer & Director with over 20 years experience sharing stories through video. My job includes producing content, directing camera operators and filming footage for online, pre-recorded and live broadcasts.
I started The Online Media Coach because my friends in business & marketing were asking me how to utilise video to engage their clients, reach new customers and increase their brand awareness. To me, it seemed simple; share their authentic story through online video and use the content techniques I’ve mastered while creating television programmes. My advice worked.

“Since I was 10 years old all I wanted to do was produce videos. I started with home movies, then TV programmes. Now I’m tackling online videos.”
1995 - Aged 10, I declared I wanted to make television programmes!
2002 - Studied media & technology at sixth form
2003 - Became a Runner with BBC Northern Ireland
2004 - Studied television production at The University of Chester
2005 - Began as a Runner for ITV Granada
2007 - Graduated university and was employed a Researcher for ITV and the BBC
2012 - Promoted to Assistant Producer & began shooting footage for ITV and the BBC
2015 - Transitioned my TV career from entertainment programmes to factual content
2018 - Began Producing & Directing for ITV
2020 - Created The Online Media Coach
Jan 2021 - Put my advice into practice and started receiving 1 million online video views per month
April 2021 - Launching my first online course
