For my first blog I answer your questions about The Online Media Coach.

The website will have given you a clear understanding of my professional background and what you’ll learn by completing the course, ‘How to create engaging online videos using your smartphone.’

If you have a question, get in touch.

What is The Online Media Coach?

The Online Media Coach is a website created by me, Aaron Nelson. It provides you with the skills needed to shoot captivating videos using your smartphone and enables you to better market your small business with online videos.

Who is the course aimed at?

The course is aimed at those responsible for marketing small businesses and wishing to increase the quality of their self-shot online videos. You may own the business or be a digital marketer working with a small business.

Examples of business areas that will benefit from the course include:

- An online product & service based website

- The self-employed who share their expertise through online videos

- Businesses trying to grow their online presence

- Creatives who want to showcase their work through video

If you’re not sure if the course is suitable for you, get in touch and we can chat through your needs.

When does the course start?

The next course starts on Monday 17th May 2021, but you don’t have to wait to sign up. You can reserve your place anytime before Sunday 16th May 2021.

Why can’t I access the learning materials as soon as I sign up?

Each time I run the course I ensure I’m available to provide support during the four weeks. In addition, course students benefit by all learning at the same pace. This allows for ideas to be shared and for no-one to feel left behind.

How is the learning delivered?

When you sign up to The Online Media Coach you create an account to access the learning materials through an online portal. Each Monday morning from the course start date new learning materials become available for you to access by logging in to the portal. The course is delivered via HD videos and there are supporting documents to download each week.

Each week consists of 60 minutes of pre-recorded video, activities & a group video call with me

How much time do I need to complete the course?

Each week consists of 60 minutes of pre-recorded videos to watch and there are a number of related learning activities for you to complete at a time convenient for you. It is your decision how much time you dedicate to the activities.

On the Thursday or Friday of each week I hold a 60 minute group video call to provide additional support and answer any questions from students. If you can’t attend the call will be recorded and made available for you to watch when convenient.

Why is the course delivered over four weeks?

The learning content of each week concentrates on one area of video production. Week one focuses on planning your content, week two is on filming, week three teaches you editing and week four explains how to prepare to stream live online. This structure follows the same schedule I use to produce television programmes.

Splitting the course across four weeks allows you to master each module at a steady pace, rather than feeling overwhelmed.

You receive lifetime access to both the course and a private Facebook group

If I have a question about the learning objectives, are you able to help?

Yes, I’ll be answering any questions each week on a group video call. If you’re unable to join the meeting you can message me questions beforehand to answer during the call. A video recording of the call will be made available to watch at a later time.

As a student of the course you will be given lifetime access to a private Facebook group. This allows you to message me and share the videos you create during the course. I am more than happy to watch these and provide feedback.

Who is the private Facebook group for?

Only students who are completing, or have completed, the same course as you have access to the private Facebook group. You have the ability to network, ask community questions and upload your videos. You receive lifetime access to the group. If the group is going to be removed in the future you will be given 90 days notice before it closes.

How many students have completed the course?

The course beginning on the 17th May 2021 is the first ‘official’ time the course will run. I’ve been working on the learning content since April 2020 and have consulted with small business owners during this time.

Several of them have benefited from the same advice I deliver in the course, but as it wasn’t formally delivered through the online portal I don’t count them as course students. I have chosen not to ask them for testimonials or use them as case studies, I feel that would be misleading.

What happens when I complete the course?

After signing up to the course you receive lifetime access to the learning materials and any future updates. If the course content is going to be removed you will receive 90 days notice. This will allow you to download and keep any learning materials.

At the end of the four weeks you will receive a downloadable certificate to mark your achievements…and you’ll be creating unbelievable videos!

I hope this blog has given you a better understanding of The Online Media Coach and its course. If you have any unanswered questions contact me and I’ll happily reply back.

Aaron
